Second Grade Student Receives Reading Award From MENSA for Kids

The students and staff of Gander Academy would like to congratulate Colin Kennedy on receiving the MENSA for Kids, Excellence in Reading Award.  Colin is a second grade student at Gander Academy.  He loves to read and says he reads, “everything I can get my hands on.”  To qualify for the award Colin read a required list of classic literature for young people. 

Any child can participate in this challenge and Colin enjoyed reading all of the books on the reading list.  His personal favorite was The Reluctant Dragon by Kenneth Grahame.  Colin is only the second child in all of Canada to complete this reading list! This is not only a great accomplishment for Colin, but he has also inspired other children to discover the joy of reading.
